Thank you so much
to Laura for letting me hang out here today!
I read and enjoy
pretty much all subgenres of romance, but suspense will always be one of my
favorites. Probably because it’s the reason I fell so in love with romance in
the first place. Throwing characters into a dire situation full of suspense and
danger automatically heightens the tension in a story. Whether it involves a
serial killer, stalkers, rogue CIA agents, mafia henchmen, just give me danger
and excitement and I’m happy.
I like a good
balance of romance and suspense, but in my reading often it doesn’t matter if
one area is heavier than the other. With some authors I find that I really dig
their action-packed non-stop adventures from chapter to chapter, while with
others the characterization is so amazing I don’t mind that the suspense aspect
is slightly slower paced. Of course, in real life I probably wouldn’t want to
deal with what most of the characters I read and write about have to live
through, but romantic suspense is such a fun escape.
I recently
launched the Red Stone Security series, a romantic suspense series that takes
place in Miami.
The first story (No
One to Trust) is incredibly action-packed and very fast-paced. The second
story (Danger
Next Door) is a little darker and is a contemporary beauty and the beast
themed romantic suspense. While both stories are very different, they both have
one thing in common—a lot of sexual tension. No matter what, I’ve got to have that in my romance.
Giveaway!Kate is offering up a copy of both No One to Trust and Danger Next Door to one random commenter! Must leave your email address! Tell Katie what you like about romantic suspense or leave a question to be entered! Winner to be chosen by random.org! Open to international! Good luck!

Hello Laura and Katie. I loved this. And I love Romantic Suspense. Why? A story's not a story without some romantic element and don't we all like a bit of suspense to keep us turning the pages? A great mix. I'm cooking one up myself!

Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Denise and Miki! :)
Hi Ladies!
What is there not to love? Two of the best genres are put together for one heck of a read!

Congratulations Katie on your success.
Read and loved both the books. Looking forward to more Red Stone Securities.
These both sound like great books!
What I enjoy about romantic suspense is the variety of emotions involved. Not only do you have the (hopefully) hold your breathe suspense, you you also have the romantic tension between characters. And as a huge fan of the old TV show Beauty & the Beast, I can't wait to read your second book.

I thought I was writing a mystery when I wrote my first manuscript, but my daughters told me it was a romance. I'd never read a romance at that point, but I realized I was reading series mystery as much for the characters as for the crime-solving. Romantic suspense lets me have it both ways. Some of my books are heavier on the mystery, some on the relationships.

Hi
I enjoy romantic suspense because it just adds something extra to a romance, danger and thrills are always a fun addition to messing with the h/h before they can live with an HEA.
Thanks for the chance

I love the interaction with the main characters and danger within romantic suspense. I always try to solve it as I'm reading along. Thank you.

Will there be more books in this series? I love romantic suspense. I love trying to figure out who the bad guy is and what I think he/she will do next. Thanks for the chance to win. These books sound fantastic.

Your books sound great. Congratulations on their release.
Mysterious intrigue, characters and a story line that grabs you
from the beginning and doesn't let go till you get to the end,
that's what I like in romantic suspense novels.

Thanks to everyone who has stopped by so far and thank you to Laura for having me!
And Joanne, yes, I'm planning for at least three more stories in this series :)
Hi ladies-I like rom/suspense as it's like two stories in one. You have your mystery/intrigue and then you get to see the hero/heroine falling in love. The books sound great, looking forward to reading them!
lfacchini(at)tampabay(dot)rr(dot)com
I love trying to figure out the sinister plot twist that will lead us all to the villian or be the undoing of the heroine so she almost falls victim to the villian. sdylion(at)gmail(dot)com
I'm an equal opportunity reader when it comes to romantic suspense. I can read anything in this genre as long as the characters don't stop for some hanky-panky when the baddie is chasing them. i.e. they need to be safe before they mess around!

Romantic suspense books have a touch more story than simply romance but still the HEA that I love; that is why I enjoy romantic suspense. A Question, which is harder to write?
dsadler53 at yahoo dot ca
Oh love the sound of book 2. Just added both to my wishlist :)
I'm a big fan of romantic suspense but I'm kinda like you and am pretty flexible with mine. I really like both aspects and how different authors balance the two or rather don't balance them. As long as there's a good spark between the hero/heroine and it leads somewhere eventually I'm a happy girl :)
Thanks for the giveaway ladies!
Hi Laura & Katie!
I guess what I love the most about romantic suspense is that it has the romance & emotion that I love in books, and the mystery and suspense that I enjoy. It is a great combination, fun to try to figure out the mystery, who the "bad guy" is, etc.

Oh boy! Love the blurbs for these books. I love Romantic suspense and have not been able to read enough of them lately. I love the romance part of course and the sexy alpha guy that tends to do with it and hopefully a pretty tough heroine as well. Little fun mixed in with the intrigue works nicely too.
Would love to read both of these. Thanks for sharing.
