#ForeverFreed Birthday Celebration & 99 Cent Sale!

I'm so excited to celebrate the first publication anniversary of my debut novel, a vampire romance called Forever Freed! This book was the first I wrote and first I sold, and it remains very dear to my heart. Forever Freed has had a heck of a year:
  • WON the NJRW Golden Leaf Award for Best Paranormal of 2011!
  • Finaled for the NJRW Golden Leaf Award for Best First Book of 2011!
  • Finaled in the GDRW Booksellers' Best Contest for Best Paranormal of 2012!
  • Finaled in the GDRW Booksellers' Best Contest for Best First Book of 2012!
  • Gothic Romance Amazon Bestseller!
So, with all these reasons to celebrate, I thought I'd throw a birthday weekend celebration with a giveaway and a sale on the book!
For a limited time, the ebook of Forever Freed, which normally sells for $5.99, is just 99 CENTS! That's amazing for a 332-page novel-length award-winning romance!

My favorite fictional vampire character has always been Barnabus from Dark Shadows. Seeing him (the 1990s version of the show) began my love affair with all things "vampire romance".

Woot! Awesome, Michelle! Thanks for kicking off the celebration! :)

I loved Buffy's love interest from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I never watched the show, but did flick over every now and then just to catch a glimpse of David's yumminess! :)
I bought both Forever Freed and HID as soon as they both came out. Great books with AWESOME covers! Sure wouldn't mind a print copy though ;) Thanks for the giveaway Laura!

Wishing you another happy birthday celebration and continued success - have this purchased and in my queue!

Favorite vampire? Angel. Why? Angelus/leather pants. Nuff said.

I'm still enjoying the fabulous prize pack from Hearts of Darkness, so I'll refrain from being greedy and keep my name out of the drawing for this one ;) Just wanted to say congrats.

My favorite is Jean Claude from Laurell Hamilton's Anita Blake Series. Yum!

Forever Freed is on my reading list :)
Hearts in Darkness is a favorite, loved it!

I love Angus MacKay from Kerrelyn Sparks series. Something about a vampire, an accent and a kilt that gets me.

Laura Kaye said...

LOL Sue! That IS a good combination! :)

Congrats on the book anniversary, and with winning so much prizes! And what a great prize pack, I so much love swag :) Books I can buy myself, but not the swag.

My favourite vampire, Jean Claude by Laurell K. Hamilton. He is everything a vampire should be in my eyes (of course, being one of the first I have read, that lays the groundwork). Handsome, mesmeric, with vampiric powers, his own agenda, good in vampire politics, and he really loves Anita.

Happy Birthday!! Hope your having a great weekend! ;) My favorite vampire is Aiden Brooks from Hot Vampire Seduction by Lisa Renee Jones. :D Though, i just finished this story not to long ago and cant think of any other vampire stories. lol Im drawing a blank besides this one. :/
Happy Birthday!! Have fun and enjoy!!

First of all, congratulations and Happy Birthday or Anniversary to Forever Freed.

Hmmm ... favorite fictional vampire; that is such a tough question because there are probably a lot of great characters out there I don't know of yet, like Bones (is he even a vampire?). But for now my first thought always strays to Vishous. Him being a Dominant adds to his sexy factor as does his sense of humor, his loyalty and that vulnerability that had us snot sobbing until Butch saved him. If I can't have him, then I'd go for Wrath next. Even blind he oozes authority and sex appeal.

Laura Kaye said...

Woot! Thanks for sharing all your favorite vampires, guys! There are a few here I CLEARLY need to add to my TBR pile! :)

My favorite vampire is really a seminus demon, Larissa Ione's Wraith. I fell for him right from the start. He was so snarky and horrible you just knew that there was something nasty in his past. To eventually find out how he was tortured and nearly killed by his own mother's family just made me love him all the more.

Thank you so much and

Happy Birthday Forever Freed :).

My favorite is Sebastian Wroth from No Rest For The Wicked by Kresley Cole from her Immortals After Dark series .

Laura Kaye said...

I'm enjoying reading all your favorites, guys! How fun! Keep 'em coming!

I do not have one favorite so I'll just have to say that my first favorite was Stefan from the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs. Who can resist a vamp who loves Scooby Doo?

Happy Birthday Forever Freed!

Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!

marybelle said...

My favorite vampire has to be Anne Rice's Lestat - dark & evil, just like a vampire should be.

mwilson said...

@Wanda - Oooh, Sebastian is definitely a good pick!

@Laura - Need more? Okay, here goes:

Michael from Blood and Sex series by Angela Cameron

Zane from Zane's Redemption by Tina Folsom

Tegan from Midnight Awakening and Dante from Kiss of Crimson by Lara Adrian

Raphael and Duncan from Vampires in America series by D.B. Reynolds

Talen from Fated by Rebecca Zanetti

Kerestyan from Eternal Seduction by Jennifer Turner

Nicholas from Eternal Kiss by Laura Wright

Rafe from A Night at Tears of Crimson by Michelle Hughes

Reule from Drink of Me by Jacquelyn Frank

Laura Kaye said...

LOL! Such an enabler! I love it! ;)

True, but this is the good kind of addiction :D

I agree with Mick St. John from Moonlight and I also like Damon from Vampire Diaries.

mmph said...

There is no way I can pick only one! :) My favorites are Jeaniene Frosts Bones and Jill Myles Zane! Love these two!

Karen Michelle Nutt said...

Love Mick St. James! Definitely my favorite.

Congratulations on your anniversary!

Laura Kaye said...

Well, I'll share my favorite fictional vampire, too, although admittedly it is extremely hard to pick just one. But, it has to be Zsadist from JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood. I am a huge sucker for the all-but-lost-cause anti-hero! LOL After him, there are about a half dozen tied for a very close second! :)

mmph said...

Yes I totally agree with you about Z!!
There are just tons of close second & third & so on, choices for most of I'm sure! ;)

Susan W. said...

There are so many sexy vampires to choose from! Zsadist has to top my list but which ever vampire I'm reading at the time usually is my favorite!

DANIELA said...

I have a few, but I'd say Damon from the The Vampire Diaries TV series. because he is soooooo hoooot and also because he acts like a bad boy, but I don't think he's actually that bad or evil.

Happy Birthday Laura!
Jacob from the Vampire Queen Series by Joey W. Hill. The man is amazing. He's super alpha, but to please Lissa he submits to her wishes. He's loyal, loving, honest, a protector, very confident, and gorgeous.

Hi Laura,
Happy Birthday!

i guess i am a traditionalist in a way because my favorite is still Dracula by Brahms Stroker. i think this is because not only was it the 1st vampire book i read but it was the my first "horror" movie too. to this day i swear that the 1979 version starring Frank Langella is the best one. the man was like sex on a stick at a time when you didn't see a ton of sensuality in anything. right after i saw the movie i went and check out the book and i was a fan ever more. there are a lot of great books and movies that are vampires like Joey Hill,Stacey Espino, etc. etc. but no one wrote Dracula better in my small and not so important opinion. LOL!

Happy Birthday again and enjoy your week.

Happy Forever Freed Birthday, Laura :)

Let's start with the birthday vampire Lucien DeMarco. Soooo sweet, an Adonis with dark hair & those awesome blue eyes. A true vamp hero.

Nick Knight (Geraint Wynn Davis, sooo yummy)

Dracula, Frank Langella (The voice and body to become undead for!)

Nick Knight (gotta love Rick Springfield!)

Mick St. John

Eric Northman (Super yummy)

Dracula, George Hamilton (Who can resist his line "I'd rather be dead than live in a world without love..."?)

All Kerrelyn Sparks Vamps!and D. McEntire's Vamps.

Congrats again on Forever Freed's Birthday 8D

Mindy :)

I guess it's a toss up. I love Eric Northman but I don't think I would if I didn't picture Alexander Scarsgard every time I think of him. I absolutely love JR Ward's Zsadist and Tina Folsom's Amaury. With Zsadist it's his vulnerability emotionally and the romance of learning how to read for his woman. AS far as Amaury goes... well he has some skills!
